Push Button type controls are set up in a latching wiring configuration and provide the preferred operation for most equipment. This type of control drops out during a power loss or power blink and requires restarting once power returns. This is a safety feature and is required for some types of equipment where a automatic restart after power returns would be dangerous. For equipment such as Air Compressors or Pumps that run automatically based on a limit switch - this type of push button controls are not compatible. Current limiting molded case circuit breakers (MCCB) provide additional short circuit protection not always found with fuses or other breakers. Current limiting devices provide protection for all components "downstream" by rapidly breaking current flow when a fault occurs. Current limiting protection allows for the entire control panel to be rated with the short circuit current rating (SCCR) of the MCCB by protecting components with a lower KA rating of the MCCB. In this control panel the standard SCCR rating is 25KA. Elimia offers higher KA rated control panels however lead time and cost are affected.
